Helping Victims of Crime

Being a victim of crime is frightening and unsettling for the millions of Americans who experience it every year. The Town of Jean Laftte Victims of Crime Assistance Program provides quality services and resources to help victims of crime from Laftte, Barataria and Crown Point heal and obtain justice. The program is designed to provide assistance to all crime victims through a range of comprehensive and coordinated services. Crime Victim Assistance Advocates work directly with the Jean Laftte Police Department and the Jefferson Parish Sherif’s Office, as well as provide services above those available through law enforcement. They assist and respond to the victim’s needs, including compensation programs, counseling services and navigating the Judicial System. Advocates are trained in the field of victim’s assistance.
