Arbor Day Foundation, State Farm® Distributing Trees in Lafitte
A national collaboration between State Farm and the Arbor Day Foundation comes to Lafitte in the form of a tree giveaway event with NOLA Tree Project.
A significant portion of the city’s tree canopy was lost in August 2021 during the devastation of Hurricane Ida. Helping restore the tree canopy will assist the community in building resilience to future severe weather threats.
Earlier this year, State Farm announced a $700,000 pledge to the Arbor Day Foundation to support tree planting projects in areas impacted by natural disasters.
“Trees can help make communities more resilient,” said Rasheed Merritt, State Farm Vice President of Corporate Responsibility. “State Farm is committed to helping communities recover from disasters and manage future risks, and we are proud to support local tree plantings.”
On November 5, local State Farm agents will gather alongside volunteers with the NOLA Tree Project to distribute 700 trees to residents on a first come, first served basis.
Event details:
What: Community tree distribution
Date/Time: Nov. 5, 9 a.m.
